These are just some drawings I did trying to draw characters without any planning and just for the fun of drawing them, consequently a lot of them are pretty odd. Based on this I think it works better when I have a some form of idea of what to do before I start drawing like with the last one as I wanted to draw a stereotypical guitarist.
