These are just two from my pinboard but these are the best I've found that are also for Tove Jansson's work and What I've used as my main reference. I love the ocean in this top one it's a beautiful colour and the pale lines really soften it while making sure it's not just a block of colour.
This second one is for the same short story that I want to make my front cover as well as some interior illustrations. this one shows everything I want mine to be but I think I'd prefer a little more detail than just the shapes. and I don't love the grey on top. Something that has obviously worked for both of these though, is the texture overlaying the image. I think I should try using a texture for mine as well.
