To match the lines to the iceberg I made the background a dark green, the regular lines black and the hatching in white. This allowed me to really see what I was doing. Which made me realise that the lines at the side weren't going to work so I took the few lines I'd already drawn in the section and used the skills I'd gained from pattern making to fill the space effectively. Though you can still see in some places where I've duplicated it.
